I love the look and feel of this, but a standard wrench does NOT work well on this at all. I have verified this with the 12.5" model as well. In both cases, I had to use a pair of channel locks. The standard armorer's wrench was ever-so-slightly too big, resulting in some slippage during tightening, which rounded the edges of the flat portions of the nut, and hideous looking bare aluminum showing. Other than that, installation is a breeze.
