I have used SLR adj gas blocks and knew them to be of high quality. I got the 16.5" Solo Hybrid guard for use in a lightweight 5.56 build. It was paired with a Faxon 18" Gunner barrel. The length is perfect on an 18" barrel. The guard is machined and finished flawlessly. While installation of the proprietary barrel nut is easy because you don't have to "time" it for the gas tube, I had a slight issue in that an 1.25" wrench head is required. I ordered one to fit my torque wrench from Amazon and finished installation once I received it. It was a good purchase, as I'll install more SLR Rifleworks handguards in the future. I like the mounting system on the barrel nut. From an engineering perspective it is robust and eliminates all potential for wiggle and tilting. The guard is noticeably light and feels nice in the hand. I couldn't be more pleased. I'm purchasing a second in 15" for another build. Doesn't get better than that.
