Excellent Fit and Finish, Solid Construction Light as a Feather!

This is my 3rd of 4th SLR rail. I've had them on both AR-15 rifles and 308 AR's. The product that SLR manufactures is always spot on. The fit and finish are always outstanding. They provide a wide variety of rails from ultra-lightweight like the one I'm reviewing to heavier rails, with a solid pic rail on top. With this particular rifle, I was upgrading a friend's DPMS Panther II which has a .150 tang upper, so it's a low profile upper requiring a low-profile rail. If you've been down this road, you know the choices are limited. Yes, I found cheaper rails out there, but I also ran into finish issues and decided to just go back to what I know is going to be high quality. That is SLR. Another factor was weight. I was trying to reduce weight where I could without compromising quality. An 18” fluted barrel, plus this Ultra-Lite rail was an excellent combination. I was able to catch a sale, so I picked the rail up for about $80 less than the normal price. At regular price, they are not cheap, but at the same time, you are not having to worry about the fit or finish of the rail. If you are upgrading or building a rifle where those factors matter, then SLR is the answer. I've also dealt with their customer service when I bought a rail that after I got it, realized it was just too long. No fault of SLR- I'm the one who bought the long rail. They took the rail back and had me another one in the mail in a matter of days. You just can't beat that. Plus, SLR offers a mil discount. I highly recommend any of their products, specifically their rails and their muzzle devices. I've used both and they are clearly a “quality over quantity” focused organization and I cannot recommend them enough.
